Jharkhand Politics: In the year 2000, Bihar was divided into two parts. A new state Jharkhand was formed. Where 11 Chief Ministers have changed in the last 23 years. Some became Chief Minister for 10 days, some for one and a half years and some for two years. Till now only one Chief Minister has completed his five-year tenure.
Instability was seen in Jharkhand, which was facing political crisis for two decades. Jharkhand is without a government for the last 25 hours. In Jharkhand, there is neither a Chief Minister nor a caretaker Chief Minister and amidst all this, politics is boiling even in the cold night. However, now the Governor has invited Champai Soren to form the government.
Many questions but no answers
This is a 23 year old state with a population of 4.45 crores which was once again facing a severe political crisis. Whose Chief Minister has resigned and is confined within the four walls of the jail. There was no acting Chief Minister either. Whose new political leadership depended on the wishes of the Governor. Where no government existed. Regarding that powerless state, the question in the minds of the people is that on whom was Jharkhand dependent at this time? Why was there a delay in forming the government there? Was President’s rule going to be imposed before the elections?
This question was raised about Jharkhand, which is at the center of political instability, because for the second time within 24 hours the Governor had postponed the request to form the government. JMM’s newly formed legislature party leader Champai Soren had reached His Majesty’s court along with his alliance partner leaders with an application to form the government.
Champai Soren had written a formal letter to meet the Governor. Complete details of supporting MLAs were given. After that the evening time was fixed for the meeting. But Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan again postponed the request to form the government till 2 February.
When Champai Soren, one of Shibu Soren’s closest associates, went to meet the Governor, he was also accompanied by Alamgir Alam, Satyanand Bhokta, Vinod Singh and Pradeep Yadav. Rest they had a video, in which all 43 MLAs were there!
MLAs sent to Telangana
Due to fear of sudden change of heart, all these 40 MLAs have been sent to Congress ruled state Telangana. It is being told that the MLAs will be kept in a resort in Hyderabad. The Grand Alliance has sent only 40 MLAs to Hyderabad, the remaining 3 MLAs will remain in Ranchi. Among them are JMM legislature party leader Champai Soren, Congress MLA Alamgir Alam and MLA Pradeep Yadav, who is technically a member of JVM but has joined Congress.
Champai Soren claims that he has 47 MLAs with him. While there are signatures of 43 MLAs. The four MLAs who have distanced themselves from all the vicissitudes are Hemant Sarone’s sister-in-law Sita Soren, Chamra Linda and Lobin Hembram. Apart from this there is Ramdas Soren.
What did BJP claim?
However, BJP claims that this breakdown is big. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claims that only 35 MLAs are with Champai Soren. At the same time, 43 MLAs are seen together in the video. Now let us look at the situation of Jharkhand Assembly.

What is the root of the allegation that Hemant Soren is calling himself synonymous with purity?
The matter is related to the purchase and sale of 4.55 acres of land owned by the Army. This land is in Badgai area of Ranchi. Army land was bought and sold in fake names. The investigating agency has arrested 14 people in this case. Hemant Soren is accused in this alleged fraud. This is the reason why BJP is calling Hemant Soren’s message as a victim card.
ED arrived with a bunch of questions
The officers of the Enforcement Directorate had reached the Chief Minister’s residence in the afternoon of January 31 with a bunch of questions related to the allegation, which the opposition parties are trying to prove baseless by calling it a political conspiracy.
ED officers interrogated Hemant Soren for 7 hours continuously. Enforcement Directorate officers were not satisfied with the answers given by Hemant Soran. By evening, DC, IG and DIG were called to the CM residence. And then at 8.30 pm, Hemant Sorane’s car entered Raj Bhavan.
After reaching Raj Bhavan, Hemant Soren first tendered his resignation. Get out from there. After about one and a half hour, the news came that Hemant Soren was arrested as soon as he came down from power. BJP is saying that whatever they did, they got the same.
Opposition raised questions on BJP’s policy and intentions
Hemant Soren was arrested in Ranchi in the rising night and there was political turmoil till Delhi. Someone expressed protest on social media. Someone came in front of the TV. In the morning, leaders of all the parties involved in the India Alliance of which Hemant Soren is a part, raised questions on the policy and intentions of BJP.
There is this worry…this restlessness among the leaders of the anti-Modi alliance because within a week there has been a second shock. First Nitish Kumar got defeated in Bihar. After that Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi were interrogated and now Hemant Soren is in jail. However, Hemant Soren’s arrest has been directly challenged in the country’s biggest court.
Who filed the petition
Senior lawyer Kapil Sibal filed a petition in the Supreme Court, in which Hemant Soren’s arrest has been declared completely illegal. The Chief Justice’s bench will hear this case on February 2. Politics is at its peak when a Chief Minister is forced to resign and arrested amidst legal complications. Then even BJP is not silent on the opposition’s allegations.
