The impasse between the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration and the students’ union may soon come to an end. The two sides have reached a consensus on several demands. The university has agreed to meet at least six of the 12 key demands of the protesting students’ union. These include the old in-house entrance exam system for admissions, restoring the JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE), conducting a campus caste census, increasing scholarship amounts and a proposal to reduce the weightage given to the oral test for admission.
