Started working in the grape fields
Her family thought that she was very attached to her home and would return soon, but Colleen had gone to start a new life. When she reached Australia, she had around Rs 3.8 lakh with her. When she landed in Perth in January 2015, she had a holiday working visa. After staying there for a year, she got her second working visa in February 2016 and started working as a labourer in the grape fields in Perth. Meanwhile, she used to stay in a hostel. She met Tom in the same hostel and within a few weeks, both of them fell in love. Tom was from England. Both of them used to share the hostel room together. Colleen was given the job of plucking grapes in the grape fields, in which she used to earn up to Rs 27,000 in a week. The rent of her room was around Rs 9,000 per week, which both of them used to pay together. Tom already worked in that field, so he would pick grapes quickly and then go to the hostel. Both of them saved money and after completing the grape work, they went to Bali for a trip after some time.

became an Australian citizen
After returning from Bali, they decided that they would go to Sydney, where better job options are available. In this way, both of them reached Sydney, where Colleen got a job as a trainee recruitment assistant and Tom got a job in the construction sector. Both of them spent 8 years in Sydney. There they also had a son who is now 1 year old. They rented a 2-room house in Sydney for Rs 41,000 per week. Both of them got their citizenship in December 2023 and the child became an Australian citizen from birth. In this way, Colleen went to Australia to get acquainted with a different country, life and people and now she has become one of them. Now soon they will shift to Perth again because that city is cheaper and they can buy a 4-room house there in the same budget. Both have started earning better than before and are now happy with their new life. Colleen also advises people that if they have to go to a new country and restart their life, then they should go without fear, because the option of returning will always be open to them.
