On the other hand, the Roman natural philosopher, scientist and historian Pliny the Elder (1st century), who wrote the encyclopedia Naturalis Historia, believed that pistachios were brought to Italy from Syria during the reign of Tiberius in the early 1st century AD. Subsequently, its cultivation spread to other Mediterranean countries.
By the way, Indian American botanist Sushma Naithani has considered two origin centers of pistachios. One, the Fertile Crescent, which includes Turkey, Israel, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Turkmenistan, etc. The second origin of pistachio considers the center and the Central Asiatic Center, which includes India, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Pistachio (Abhishuka) is described in the ancient Ayurvedic text of India ‘Charaksamhita’ written in the seventh-eighth century BC. This means that this dry fruit was being consumed in India during that period. Information about its properties has been given in the book and it has been told that it is not only aliphatic, sweet, fortifying, anti-cough and bile, it also reduces weight. Pistachios have weighty nutrients. According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), 100 grams of pistachios have calories 562, total fat 45 grams, cholesterol 0 mg, sodium 1 mg, potassium 1,025 mg, carbohydrates 28 grams, fiber 10 grams, protein 20 grams, besides vitamin C, calcium, Iron, vitamin B6 and magnesium are also found.

According to food expert and nutrition consultant Nilanjana Singh, due to these vitamins and minerals, this dry fruit controls blood sugar, does not allow body weight to increase and is also considered beneficial for the heart.
