After the rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata, the strike of junior doctors at AMUâs JN Medical College continued for the eighth day. Although patients did not come to the OPD due to Rakshabandhan holiday, some patients who came to the emergency faced problems.
Rinku son of Veerpal, a resident of Atrauli, who was a victim of a road accident, was brought to the emergency ward of the medical college by his family. The doctors gave him first aid, but he was not admitted as the junior doctors were not on duty. This made his family very upset. Similarly, the family of Vishnu son Suresh, a resident of Akarabad, who came complaining of chest pain, was also upset. They too did not get treatment.
RDA President Dr. Asim Siddiqui has said that the decision to end the strike has to be taken at the IMA level. Only after this the strike will be called off. Till now not even a single demand of the doctors has been met.
