A fraudster transferred Rs 20 lakh to the account of a spare parts trader living in Hanumant Vihar area by luring him to sell an old JCB. Later he refused to sell the JCB. When pressured to return the money, he gave a cheque which bounced. The victim trader has lodged a report at the police station.

Ajab Singh Rajput, a resident of Vanshi Vihar, said that he does business of buying and selling old JCBs and spare parts. On February 22, Hemkar Singh, a resident of Patjupaharpur in Sultanpur district, called him and asked for spare parts. When the shop was closed, he called Hemkar at home. He told him that he wanted to sell his old JCB, on which the deal was fixed for Rs 20.50 lakh.

It is alleged that Hemkar took Rs 20 lakh in several installments by saying that there was a loan on the JCB. It was told that after some time the accused refused to sell the JCB. When pressure was put on him to return the money, he gave a cheque which bounced. Police station in-charge Uday Pratap Singh said that a report has been filed under various sections including fraud and the case is being investigated.
