Two children who had gone out for cycling on Wednesday in Aima Udhau Niwada village of Bilhaur went missing. After much searching, when they were not found till evening, their family filed a missing person report with the police. On Thursday afternoon, the bodies of both were found floating in a pond in the middle of the fields, about 500 meters away from the village. On receiving information about the incident, police from several police stations reached the spot. The children’s family and villagers from several villages gathered at the spot. It is suspected that both the children died due to drowning while bathing in the pond. The police have sent both the bodies for post-mortem.

Inspector Keshav Tiwari said that Nikhil alias Yeshu Pal (8), son of farmer Suresh Pal, resident of Aima Udhau Niwada village, had left home on Wednesday to ride a bicycle with Anurag Pal (9), son of Anuj Pal, a neighbor. Both the children were seen cycling on Shah Niwada Road till about six in the evening. After this, both went missing. When the two children were not found till late night, Suresh and Anuj Pal lodged a missing person report at the police station by giving their photos and written complaint. On Thursday afternoon, villagers who had come to graze cattle in the fields saw two bicycles and clothes and slippers lying nearby in a pond between the fields. Then the bodies of both the children were seen floating in the pond. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the bodies out of the water with the help of the villagers. In the initial investigation, it is suspected that both the children died due to drowning while bathing. The cause of death will be clear after the post-mortem report comes.
