A fire broke out in a wrapper printing factory located in Visayakpur industrial area in Kanpur countryside on Wednesday afternoon due to a short circuit. There was a stampede among the workers as smoke and flames rose. Two fire tankers were called from Kanpur. With the help of a total of six fire tankers, the fire could be controlled after three hours of effort. According to the factory’s GM Rishi Tiwari, the entire plant was burnt down due to this. The loss is estimated to be several crores of rupees.

Manish Kumar, a resident of Kanpur, has an Acumen Laminator Private Limited factory in Visayakpur. There are two separate wrapper printing plants here. A hundred workers work in each plant in one shift. On Wednesday afternoon around 2 o’clock, 100 workers were working in the wrapper printing plant as soon as they entered the gate. Meanwhile, the printing machine suddenly caught fire. When flames rose and smoke came out, the workers ran out shouting. On the instructions of the management officer present in the factory, efforts to extinguish the fire were started and the fire brigade was informed.

In a short while, Chief Fire Officer Surendra Singh and Fire Extinguishing Officer Krishna Kumar reached with three fire tankers from Mati. One fire tanker arrived from HPCL. While two fire tankers were called from Kanpur. Water was sprayed from three sides. Chief Fire Officer Surendra Singh said that the factory has fire NOC. There are adequate arrangements for extinguishing fire here. The fire was caused by a short circuit. There is no loss of life. Factory GM Rishi Tiwari said that the loss is estimated to be in crores of rupees. The real situation will be known after investigation.
