A two-day Indian Farmers Fair and Agro Industry Exhibition was organized on Thursday at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology. The inauguration was done by Dr. Sanjay Singh, Director General of Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Research Council, Dr. Anand Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University. Seeds of 53 species of grains and vegetables were kept here. Seeds worth a record Rs 30 lakh were sold on the first day itself. In the earlier fairs, only a maximum of 25 lakh seeds were sold on the first day. Demand for wheat seeds remained high.
At the same time, seeds of peas, lentils, mustard, mustard and vegetables were also sold. Chief guest in the program, Dr. Sanjay Singh said that farmers are moving towards organic farming, it is a good thing, but if non-organic farming is happening nearby then it is not beneficial. Because, chemicals are seeping from within the earth and reaching other people’s fields. Scientists are developing new species according to climate change. He inspired the farmers to move forward by getting acquainted with the new technology. Progressive farmers were honored here. At the same time, books written by the Directorate of Propagation were also released. The children of the primary school located in the university campus were honored by giving them educational kits. The fair was conducted by Dr. Arvind Kumar. Dr. CL Maurya, Dr. Vijay Yadav, Dr. PK Upadhyay, Dr. DP Singh, Dr. Khalil Khan etc. were present on the occasion.
