A female employee of the hotel has filed a report against the manager of Hotel Royal Galaxy in Govindnagar, Kanpur, accusing him of rape, defaming and threatening. According to the victim, the manager was harassing her for a long time. She was called and raped on the pretext of cleaning the hotel room. The police have said that the accused will be arrested soon.
The girl, resident of Kidwainagar police station area, works in Hotel Royal Galaxy located near Nataraj Cinema. According to the victim, she started working in the hotel in December. From January, senior hotel manager Vishal Verma started making objectionable comments. Since she needed a job, she ignored the manager’s actions. On March 1, the accused asked her to clean the room. As soon as she entered the room, the manager caught hold of her and forced himself on her. However, he left after protesting.
According to the victim, the accused threatened to defame her and ruin her career. The victim complained to Govindnagar police station on Saturday afternoon, but the police did not register a case. When the matter came to the notice of higher officials, a case was registered late at night. However, the accused has not been arrested. Police say that further action will be taken after the statement of 164.
