North-westerly winds bring coolness in the Kanpur region and the Ganga plains. Senior meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that due to the new western disturbance, there are chances of heavy snowfall in the Himalayan region. In the new year, people will see the Himalayan peaks covered with white sheets of snow. Four types of seasonal activities are active. One is that moist winds are coming from the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal. The second activity is in Rajasthan. A cyclonic circle is formed here. Apart from this, western disturbance is coming as the third activity.

The last fourth activity is of jet stream. Due to these winds coming down, moisture from the Caspian and Mediterranean Sea will start coming here. If these four systems unite then more rain may occur. With this the cold wave will start. There are chances of La Nina becoming active in January itself. Due to its activation, the coolness of the sea level comes into the atmosphere along with the winds. CSA’s meteorological department estimates that there will be a fluctuation of one or two degrees in the maximum and minimum temperatures before the impact of seasonal activities appears. Along with this, mist and fog are likely to persist. Meteorological Technical Officer of the department, Ajay Mishra said that on Saturday morning the visibility was seven hundred meters instead of the normal two kilometers.
