Thieves came in a car and stole jewellery and cash worth about Rs 7 lakh from the closed house of a finance manager living in Buddhnagar of Hanumant Vihar police station area in Kanpur. In the morning, when the main gate of the house was found open, the neighbour informed him. On reaching the city, the finance manager found the main gate of the house and the locks of the rooms broken. He informed the police about the theft. The police is investigating the matter.
Vinay Dixit, a resident of Hanumant Vihar police station area Boudh Nagar, is a finance manager in an automobile company in Lucknow. He lives in Lucknow with his wife Neeta, while his son is a manager in a company in Delhi and his daughter is in Mumbai. Vinay mostly stays in Boudh Nagar from Friday to Sunday. Vinay said that on Saturday morning, Seema Singh, who lives in front of his house, informed him over the phone that the gate of the house was open. He told that a car was also parked outside at night, but it was not seen in the morning. Hence, he suspected theft and came to the city from Lucknow.
The thieves broke the locks of three doors of the house including the main gate. The thieves took away jewellery worth about seven lakh rupees, 12 thousand rupees in cash and other items kept in the cupboards. They also took away the broken locks. According to the neighbours, a car similar to Vinay’s was parked at the gate at night, so no one suspected anything. Hanumant Vihar police station in-charge Uday Pratap Singh said that the footage of the cameras around the house is being checked. A case will be registered on the basis of the complaint.
