Kapil Dev Warned Indian Cricket Team Before Asia Cup About Injured Players

Kapil Dev On Injured Players Indian Cricket Team: Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have returned to the Indian team for the Asia Cup. Former captain Kapil Dev talked about the injured players. Rahul and Iyer were out of the team due to their respective injuries. Although Iyer has returned to the team after being fully fit, but Rahul still has a minor injury, which will heal before the second match of the Asia Cup.

Now Kapil Dev has warned Team India regarding injured players. He said that the players should be tested beforehand, otherwise the whole team may face problems. According to a report in ‘NDTV’, Kapil Dev said, “Every player should be tested. The World Cup is very close but still you did not give chances to the players. What if he goes for the World Cup and gets injured? The whole team will suffer.”

He further said, “At least here he will get some chance of batting or bowling and he will get some rhythm. Worst of all, if he gets injured again during the World Cup, it won’t go down well with the players who will be left out of the squad. All the injured players who have come back should be given a chance. If he is fit, he can play the World Cup.”

The former Indian captain said that the Asia Cup is a good opportunity to prepare the team for the World Cup. Kapil Dev said, “There is no dearth of talent, but if he is not fit, India will now have a chance to make changes for the World Cup. You have a good chance to prepare the team for the World Cup and the Asia Cup is a good platform.”

Further said, “I want these players to go and express themselves. But if there’s any kind of doubt, they don’t have to be around. If you don’t give him a chance, it will not be good for the players as well as the selectors. I know that the World Cup will be played in India, but you should choose the best and fittest team.
