There are not just one but many warriors in the perfume city who have put their lives at stake for the country from time to time. Many became martyrs while fighting the enemies, while many killed the enemies by riddling them with bullets. 20 years ago, the sons of Kannauj were also among those who defeated the Pakistani army in the inaccessible hills of Kargil. 24 years ago, in the Kargil war that lasted from 3 May to 26 July in 1999, the brave soldiers of the perfume city had given a tough time to the enemies with their bravery.

Three soldiers were martyred in Ramnaresh’s group
Late Ramnaresh Yadav, who retired from the post of Army Havildar and originally a resident of Hanumant Kheda of Gugrapur Block, had also given a tough time to the enemies in the Kargil war. He defeated death even after being hit by five bullets. Although three companions of the group were martyred, two terrorists were also killed. He passed away two years ago. The family has preserved his memories. Pravin Yadav, the only son of Ramnaresh Yadav, currently lives in Devintola of Saraimira. He tells that his father was posted in the National Rifle Manasvarg. On July 13, 1999, the enemies fired at them. Three soldiers were martyred. Two companions were injured, his father Ramnaresh Yadav was also among them.
