Kargil War

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 July in honor of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War. Kargil is also called the land of heroes. Today we are going to tell you about one such brave man, who fought till his last breath for the security of the country despite being hit by 15 bullets during the Kargil war. Who was Yogendra Yadav? Let us tell you that Yogendra Singh Yadav was born on 10 May 1980 in Aurangabad Ahir village located in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, Yogendra Yadav joined the Indian Army in 1996 at the age of just 16 years. Yogendra Yadav belonged to a military family, his father had also served in the Indian Army. He defeated the opponents on behalf of the Kumaon Regiment in the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971. Beginning of the Kargil war: Yogendra Yadav was just a few years old when he joined the Indian Army. At that time, Pakistani soldiers had infiltrated and occupied the peaks of Kargil. Pakistan did not mend its ways even after continuous defeats in 1947, 1965 and 1971. This is the reason why Pakistan once again attacked India in 1999. During this war, Yogendra Singh Yadav was given the responsibility of liberating the 3 most important bunkers of Tiger Hill. According to the information, on 4 July 1999, Yogendra Yadav along with his commando platoon climbed the inaccessible high peak. During this time, they had to climb a straight slope of almost 90 degrees, it was a risky task. However, there was a way from where the Pakistanis could be deceived. Yogendra Yadav along with his battalion had just reached a short distance when the Pakistani soldiers got the hint of their arrival. After this, Pakistani soldiers started heavy firing, in which many Indian soldiers were seriously injured.

Tricolour on the peak

On July 5, 25 soldiers of 18 Grenadiers along with Yogendra Yadav started moving forward again. However, this time also the strategy had changed. On the other hand, Pakistani soldiers again noticed the Indian soldiers, after which after about 5 hours of continuous firing, the Indian Army had asked some of its soldiers to retreat in a planned manner. But this was part of a plan.

According to the information, Yogendra and his 7 Indian soldiers were still hiding there under the operation. When the Pakistani soldiers came down to confirm again, at that time Yogendra’s squad attacked them. However, during this conflict, some Pakistani soldiers were successful in running back towards the peak. But on the other hand, the Indian soldiers climbed up rapidly and by morning they were successful in reaching near the top of Tiger Hill. But again the Pakistani army surrounded them from all sides and started attacking them.

Yogendra Yadav was hit by 15 bullets

All the soldiers of Yogendra were martyred in this attack of Pakistani soldiers. Yogendra’s body was also hit by about 15 bullets, but he was breathing. During this, as soon as he got a chance, he removed the pin of the grenade kept in his pocket and threw it at the advancing Pakistani soldiers. During this, many Pakistani soldiers were blown to pieces with a loud explosion. Meanwhile, Yogendra picked up the rifle lying near him and killed the remaining Pakistani soldiers. However, Yogendra had lost a lot of blood, so he could not remain conscious for long. During this, he fell into a drain and was carried away by the current. Indian soldiers pulled him out and immediately admitted him to the hospital for treatment. In this way, his life was saved and Indian soldiers hoisted the tricolor on Tiger Hill. After the war, Yogendra Yadav was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery.
