The film’s director Dharmesh Darshan had revealed how that kissing scene was shot in the film. He had said that the scene was completed because of the help of Karisma Kapoor’s mother i.e. Babita. Babita had made the actress very comfortable while shooting the scene.
It was said that this scene between Karisma Kapoor and Aamir Khan took 3 days and 47 retakes to shoot. The director said that he had planned to create a sensation among the audience by putting this kissing scene on the poster but later he dropped the plan. This scene of the film was shot in Ooty.
Not Karishma but this actress was the first choice
In an interview, Dharmesh Darshan had told that Juhi Chawla was the first choice for the female lead and not Karisma Kapoor. The director had told that he wanted a role like Madhuri Dixit in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun but Juhi Chawla got angry after Madhuri’s name was taken. The maker had also contacted Pooja Bhatt and Aishwarya Rai for the film but they too had refused the script.
