Karwa Chauth 2024: Every year the fast of Karva Chauth is observed by married women. This fast is difficult. In this fast, wives have to remain without food and water for the whole day. This year the fast of Karva Chauth will be observed on 20th October. There are many rituals of Karva Chauth fast. Among these rituals, a special ritual takes place in the early morning of Karva Chauth, which is called Sargi of Karva Chauth. Sargi is a ritual in which the mother-in-law feeds good and tasty food to her daughters-in-law at 4 in the morning and gives them makeup items. Things like dry fruits, fruits, kheer-puri, sweet mathri are eaten in Sargi thali. This year, mother-in-law can prepare some good, tasty and healthy dishes for her daughters-in-law. We are telling you about one such dish whose name is Mishri Roti. Let us note down the method and ingredients to make it.
Ingredients required to make Mishri Roti
Flour
pure desi ghee
powdered sugar (sugar made from sugar candy)
Saffron, soaked in milk or water
finely chopped cashews
finely chopped almonds
finely chopped pistachios
Cardamom powder (powder made by extracting the seeds)
Make it using this method
step 1
First of all, take powdered sugar and ghee together in a big vessel. Now both these things have to be mixed on one side only by rotating them in a circular motion. To crush it you have to use the claws of your hands. By kneading like this, you have to prepare a soft mixture of ghee and sugar. It will take at least 10 minutes for this mixture to come together, that is, it has to be mixed with complete calmness and patience.
Step-2
After this you have to sift the flour through a sieve. After sifting and processing, flour is to be mixed in small quantities in the ghee-sugar mixture. Now you have to prepare the dough by rotating it on one side with the help of the toes of your hands in exactly the same way as you did with the first one. When the flour is mixed properly, add cardamom powder to it. Your dough is ready.
Step-3
Now you have to pre-heat the microwave or gas oven at 180 degrees. After this, apply desi ghee on a tray. Now take out a little bit of dough from the prepared dough and keep it on the tray in round shape or cookie shape. Try to cook only 5 Mishri Rotis at a time by keeping them on the tray so that they do not stick to each other and get cooked properly. After this, sprinkle soaked saffron to decorate the roti and then arrange chopped nuts on it.
Step-4
After decorating the Mishri Roti, take 2 minutes so that everything gets set properly. After this, keep the tray of Mishri Roti in the microwave. You have to cook these rotis for 5-7 minutes. However, preparing the first tray may take a little time, so you can remove these loaves from the microwave once they smell cooked. It will not take much time to make the subsequent rotis because both the tray and the microwave will be hot, and after the first rotis are cooked, you will understand how to cook them.
Step-5
In the next step you have to remove the Mishri Rotis from the tray. For this, take 2-3 minutes after taking it out of the microwave. When the rotis cool down a bit, take them out with the help of a spatula or spoon. Now you have to cool them a little more in the plate. Your delicious Mishri Rotis are ready. Feed these to your daughter-in-law in a sargi plate instead of sweets or mathri bought outside, she will definitely like this dish.
You can easily store this Mishri Roti or Desi Cookies for about a month. To make it more crunchy, you can use flour instead of flour.
