Karwa Chauth 2024 special recipe: The festival of Karva Chauth will be celebrated on 20th October. On this day, married women observe a fast for their husbands throughout the day and after seeing the moon at night, they break the fast by drinking water from their husbands’ hands. So let us know how to make this famous dish of Hyderabad, Jafrani Kheer, at home in an easy way.

Material:
1/2 cup rice (basmati)
1 liter milk
1/2 cup sugar (as per taste)
1/4 teaspoon saffron
1/4 cup dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 teaspoon ghee

Method: First of all, wash the rice thoroughly and leave it to soak in water for 30 minutes. Now boil the milk in a big vessel and while boiling the milk, take care that it does not burn from the bottom. For this, keep stirring the milk with a spoon. When the milk boils, carefully add the soaked rice into it and leave it to cook on low flame.

Keep stirring it continuously every now and then, so that it does not stick to the bottom of the vessel. When the rice is half cooked, add sugar to it and mix it well. After two minutes, add finely chopped dry fruits and cardamom powder. Now take hot milk in a small bowl and soak saffron thread in it. Now add it to kheer and mix.

Let the kheer cook for another 10-15 minutes and when the rice is completely cooked and starts thickening, turn off the gas. Before boiling, add one spoon ghee in it and mix well. Hot Zafrani Kheer is ready. Take it out in a vessel and garnish it with dry fruits and serve. You can also serve the kheer after cooling it.
