Hearing the words of the sister-in-law, the sisters-in-law said- Sister, the moon has not come out yet, your brothers are deceiving you by lighting a fire and showing its light as the moon.
The moneylender’s daughter ignored the words of her sisters-in-law and ate after offering prayers to the moon shown by her brothers. Due to this breaking of the fast of Karva Chauth, Lord Ganesha, the destroyer of obstacles, became displeased with the moneylender’s daughter. Due to Ganesh ji’s displeasure, the girl’s husband fell ill and all the money left in the house was spent on his treatment.
When the moneylender’s daughter realized her mistakes, she felt very remorseful. She prayed to Lord Ganesha for forgiveness and started the Chaturthi fast again as per the rituals. She greeted all the people present with respect and then took their blessings.
Seeing the devotion of that girl, Ekdant Lord Ganesha was pleased with her and gave life to her husband. He freed him from all kinds of diseases and blessed him with wealth, property and prosperity.
