The farmers who were eagerly waiting for rain for the peanut crop drying up in the scorching heat, the same rain has now become a cause of worry for the farmers. The rain has created a threat of destruction of 380 hectares of crop. Farmers may have to bear the brunt of losses worth lakhs of rupees.

Seeing the increasing demand for peanuts, farmers again turned towards this crop. According to the data of the Agriculture Department, peanut crop was sown in 980 hectares of area. In this, 600 hectares of crop has been dug out. Currently, 380 hectares of crop is left in the fields. This time the crop was considered to be very good. At present, the price in the market is up to Rs 6000 per quintal. Due to which the farmer would have got up to Rs 4.56 crore by selling this crop in the market, but the continuous rain for three days has written the story of ruin for the farmer.

On Friday night, the roof of a house in village Kakarala of Patiyali development block area suddenly collapsed. Six people were injured due to this. They were admitted for treatment. Household items were damaged due to being crushed. According to the incident, 40-year-old widow Preeti, a resident of village Kakarala, was visited by her brother Shivkumar, a resident of Nawabganj district Farrukhabad. On Friday night, Preeti, her sons Dhruv (10), Raj (7) and daughter Nandini (4) and her brother Shivkumar (14) and nephew Rohit (20) went to sleep on the roof of the house when they felt too hot.
