Bihar’s Khagaria Civil Court has sentenced five people in two separate cases. Khagaria Court has sentenced Rakesh Kumar Singh, son of Ramesh Prasad, resident of Jhakhra of Alauli police station area, accused in Chitragupt Nagar police station case 309/19, to 20 years of imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand has also been imposed.

The court of ADJ-6 cum Exclusive Special Judge POCSO Act Atul Kumar Pathak, holding the accused guilty, has sentenced him to seven years imprisonment and a fine of 20 thousand rupees under section 363 IPC, 20 years imprisonment and a fine of 50 thousand rupees under section 376 (3) IPC. While 20 years imprisonment and a fine of 50 thousand rupees has been imposed under POCSO Act-4.

The victim was made to disappear and was raped for three months

According to the information, in Chitragupt Nagar police station case number 309/19, Rakesh Kumar Singh is accused of luring a minor girl and kidnapping her and raping her for about three months. In this case, seven witnesses were presented in the court by the prosecution. The incident is said to have taken place on 27 February 2019 last year. In its order, the court has ordered all the sentences to be carried out simultaneously. At the same time, the court has ordered to give compensation of four lakh rupees to the victim under the Victim Compensation Act. In this case, senior advocate Rajiv Kumar Raman was present on behalf of the victim. While senior advocate Ajay Kumar Singh presented his case in the court on behalf of the accused.

Four people were also punished under SC/ST Act

Here, in another case, four people have been sentenced to three years in Khagaria court. This happened under SC/ST police station case 73/12. In this incident, Arjun Rajak, son of Sanhauli resident Sengar Rajak, has accused Rajesh Kumar, Munna Mandal, son of Munna Mandal, Omprakash Mandal, son of Darogi Mandal and Dharmdev Singh, resident of Marar village, of forcibly ploughing the land and abusing and threatening to kill.

In this case, Khagaria Court ADJ-2 cum Special Judge SC-ST Act Shailendra Kumar has imposed one year imprisonment along with a fine of one rupee under section 341/34, one year imprisonment and a fine of 1000 rupees under section 504/34 and three years imprisonment and a fine of two thousand rupees under section 3 (11) 10 on the four accused. All the sentences of these accused will run simultaneously. In this case, senior advocate cum Special PP Chandrabhushan Prasad Singh presented the side of the plaintiff on behalf of the prosecution.
