Khandwa’s famous Asafoetida Kachori, taste lovers line up daily in Sirpur village

There is a small shop on the way from Khandwa city towards Sirpur village, from where more than 3,000 kachoris are sold every day. This is not an ordinary Kachori, but a special Kachori with asafoetida, whose taste attracts people from city to village. The owner of this shop is Satish Chaudhary, who made this Kachori business so successful by his hard work and carrying forward his father’s legacy.

Journey from small kiosk to big restaurant
Satish Chaudhary says that the journey of this kachori started in 2013, but its roots go back to 2000, when his father, Krishna Chaudhary, started it from a small tea and betel kiosk. Gradually this Gumti turned into a small restaurant, which he named after his sister Jayshree.

Today, this Asafoetida Kachori of Jayshree Restaurant has become so famous that people come from 6 to 7 kilometers away to eat it. The secret of the unique taste of this Kachori lies in its spices, which are prepared at home. Satish explains, “Our spices, especially asafoetida and other black spices, are made at home. Besides, tamarind chutney and curd are also prepared at home, which makes the kachori more special.”

Curd Kachori also became a hit
Not only asafoetida kachori, but the taste of curd kachori is also present in the hearts of the customers. Regular customers like Jeetu Patel and Yogesh Ambiya say that the combination of tamarind chutney and curd-sev available here makes Kachori special. He says, “We have been coming to this shop since it was a small paan shop, and even then its taste was amazing. Even today, after so many years, the same taste remains.”
