Ajit Gupta told that this preparation has been made so that the people of Koderma also get the delicious taste of Gaya’s famous Tilkut. He told that sesame and jaggery used in Tilkut are also being procured from Gaya. So that the people here get the traditional taste of Gaya’s Tilkut. The Tilkut prepared here is supplied to the border districts of Giridih, Hazaribagh as well as many areas of Barhi and Koderma blocks.

This is how crispy tilkut is made
Ajit told that to prepare Tilkut, first of all sugar and water are boiled in a pan. After this its ghani is prepared. After the ghani is ready, the sugar solution is spread on a smooth stone. After it cools down, it is put on a strip and roasted in a hot pan with sesame seeds. After roasting, it is made into small balls and pounded with hands. After grinding the Tilkut, it is kept to dry so that it can become crispy.
