Special Khurchan sweets are available here. Shopkeeper Mahadev Gupta says that this shop has been operating since before 1930. However, this shop was registered in 1930. Everyone is a fan of the special Khurchan sweets available in this shop which has been running for 4 generations, from mango to the special ones. Let us tell you that this Khurchan sweet is made by scraping the milk rind.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also likes Khurchan sweets.
Shopkeeper Mahadev Gupta says that it is absolutely true that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar likes these sweets very much. This is the reason why even when he was not the Chief Minister, he used to come here and taste Khurchan sweets. Actually, there are other schools including Narayani Kanya in Kachori Gali itself. Nitish Kumar’s wife was a teacher in one of these schools. When Nitish used to come on scooter to drop and pick up his wife from school, he used to park his scooter in front of this shop and buy scraper from here. Mahadev Gupta tells that he was very young at that time. At that time father used to work at the shop.

This is how Khurchan sweets are made
Mahadev Gupta tells that the milk is cooked in iron pans in the quantity of one pav each till it dries. After the milk cools down, its cream is carefully skimmed off with a blade-like knife and spread in a plate. After this, Khurchan sweets are prepared by sprinkling powdered sugar and adding layers of cream one above the other.

This sweet is in demand even in foreign countries
Shopkeepers say that everyone from big politicians to actors have tasted this sweet. From former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee to current Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also tasted this sweet. Apart from this, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also tasted this sweet. Shopkeeper Mahadev further explains that Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib is nearby, hence a large number of Sikh devotees also buy scrapers from here and take them with them to other places as a message.

Orders have been received several times from Singapore also.
Orders for scraper have been received many times from Singapore and other countries. Mahadev Gupta says that even though the name of this street is Kachori Gali, Kachori is not available here. Therefore this street should be named Khurchan Gali. Let us tell you that currently you will get Khurchan sweets at the rate of Rs 1400 per kg from 09 am to 09 pm.
