Make sure to get this vaccine after birth

According to UNICEF, the child must be given the Bacillus Calmette Guerin or BCG vaccine immediately after birth. It has a single dose, which is injected in the upper part of the arm. This vaccine protects children from tuberculosis.

Take care of oral polio vaccine too

The child must be given oral polio vaccine immediately after birth. This is the first dose given at birth. When the child is six weeks old, he should be given the second dose of polio. The third dose must be given at the age of 10 weeks and the fourth and last dose must be given at the age of 14 weeks. This vaccine helps children to avoid the polio virus.

This vaccine is also necessary immediately after birth

Apart from BCG and polio drops, children must also get hepatitis B vaccine immediately after birth. This single dose vaccine protects children from hepatitis B. This viral infection directly attacks the liver, the serious consequences of which can be seen with age.

Get these vaccines at the age of six weeks

When the child is six weeks old, give him the second dose of oral polio vaccine. Apart from this, the first dose of pentavalent is also to be administered at this age. This vaccine protects children from diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B and Hib. At the age of six weeks, children have to be administered the first dose of pentavalent, the first dose of rotavirus vaccine i.e. RVV, the first dose of PVC, the first dose of inactivated polio vaccine i.e. FIPV.

These vaccines are necessary when the child is 10 weeks old

When the child is 10 weeks old, he has to be given the second dose of pentavalent, the third dose of oral polio vaccine and the second dose of rotavirus vaccine. All these vaccines protect children from dangerous diseases.

Get these five vaccines in the 14th week

When the child turns 14 weeks old, it is necessary to give him these five vaccines. These include the third dose of pentavalent, fourth dose of oral polio vaccine, third dose of rotavirus vaccine, second dose of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine i.e. PCV and second dose of inactivated polio vaccine. This is the last dose of all these vaccines.

These vaccines are given in 9 to 12 months

When the child is between 9 and 12 months old, he is given the first dose of measles and rubella (MR), which protects the child from measles and rubella. The second dose of this vaccine is given at the age of 16 to 24 months. During this time, children are given the first vaccine of Japanese encephalitis (JE), which protects against Japanese encephalitis. Its second dose is also given to children aged 16 to 24 months.
