Indus River
It is one of the longest rivers in Asia. Its origin is considered to be a stream named Sin-Ka-Bab located near Mansarovar in Tibet. Whose length is 3610 kilometers. It goes to Pakistan via Kashmir in India and after Pakistan meets the Arabian Sea.
Jhelum River
Jhelum River originates from Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. In old times its name was Vitasta River. The total length of Jhelum river is 725 kilometers. Which passes through different places of Kashmir in India and reaches Pakistan and joins the Chenab River.
Chenab
Chenab River originates from Lacha Pass in Himachal Pradesh, India. The main source of water in this river is considered to be the melting of snow. This river reaches the Punjab region of Pakistan via Jammu. Ravi and Jhelum rivers meet Chenab in Punjab, Pakistan. The total length of Chenab river is 960 kilometers.
Raavi
The origin of Ravi river is considered to be Rohtang Pass in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Ravi river originates and goes to Pakistan via Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir and Punjab. Later this river joins Chenab river. The length of Ravi river is 720 kilometers. There is a dispute between India and Pakistan regarding the water of this river. Pakistan is objecting to the construction of a dam on the Ravi river.
Pakistan says that due to the construction of the dam, the water going to Pakistan will stop, Pakistan is objecting to this. Indus Water Treaty was signed in 1960. In which Pakistan used 80 percent of the water and India was able to use only about 20 percent of the water.
Sutlej River
Sutlej River is a river that flows through Punjab. The origin of this river is considered to be the glacier of Rakshas Tal near Mansarovar. The length of this river is 4575 kilometers. This river flows in China, India and Pakistan. In ancient times this river was known as Shutudri.
