Kolkata Doctor Rape Murder Case: The troubles of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who has been continuously targeted by the opposition since the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, do not seem to be decreasing. While the investigation in the doctor rape case was still going on, four more cases of sexual harassment have come to light in the state. After these incidents on Saturday (31 August 2024), BJP has once again targeted the TMC government.
After these four cases came to light, there is a lot of anger among the people. People once again protested and raised slogans against the government. However, the police have said that action will be taken in all these cases. Let us know what happened where and why Mamata Banerjee is again surrounded by questions.
1. Birbhum
A case of molestation of a nurse has come to light at the Lamba Bazaar Health Centre here. It is alleged that a person named Sheikh Abbasuddin forcibly touched the private parts of the nurse during night duty.
2. Nadia
A case of rape of a teenager has come to light in Bhajanghat of Krishnaganj in Nadia. In this case, the victim says that when she was returning home with the goods, the neighbor dragged her into the garden and raped her and threatened her.
3. Madhyamgram
In Madhyamgram, a TMC Panchayat member has been accused of raping a minor girl studying in class 2. There is an atmosphere of tension in the area after this incident. People are creating a ruckus.
4. Howrah Sadar
A case of sexual abuse of a girl has come to light in the CT scanner room of Howrah Sadar Hospital on Saturday night.
Amit Malviya lashed out at Mamta Banerjee
At the same time, BJP has also become aggressive regarding these four cases that came in a single day. BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Sunday (September 1, 2024) fiercely attacked Mamata Banerjee’s government on the social media platform X. Amit Malviya wrote on X, “The first day of September 2024 in West Bengal begins with four cases of sexual harassment.” He has also taken a dig at the TMC government by mentioning these four incidents in detail.

- “Nurse molested at Lambabazar health centre in Birbhum. A man named Sheikh Abbasuddin forcefully touched her private parts during night duty. Instead of making workplaces safe for women, Mamata Banerjee will blame the nurse for working at night.
- Minor raped in Bhajanghat, Krishnaganj, Nadia.
- In Madhyamgram, a TMC Panchayat member raped a minor girl studying in class 2.
- A girl was sexually assaulted in the CT scanner room of Howrah Sadar Hospital on Saturday night.”
Told Mamata Banerjee a big disaster
Amit Malviya further wrote, “West Bengal is the most unsafe state for women thanks to Mamata Banerjee. She has done nothing to implement strict rules and set up fast track courts to punish the accused in rape and POCSO cases. She is a big disaster as the Chief Minister and she should resign.”
