‘Reclaim the Night’ became a mass protest – Rimjhim Sinha

Meanwhile, social activist and campaign director Rimjhim Sinha told news agency PTI, “Initially we had called for women to gather at night in three to four places, but it became a mass protest. During this time people protested at many places in the city and districts of the state.

Protesters want a safe environment for women

Rimjhim Sinha said, “Ever since the non-political movement started, we have been receiving phone calls and messages from many people. It has become a widespread rebellion. The protesters want a safe environment for women, which the state and central governments have failed to provide in so many years. However, “In the first two editions of the protest march, political flags were missing, but the protesters held the national flag, united in their demand for justice.

While the ruling Trinamool Congress called the protest a strategy of the opposition to incite unrest, the BJP made it clear that it was not a part of the march.
