Let us tell you that this case was heard in the Supreme Court on Monday. As the hearing began, advocate Vrinda Grover told a bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra that the victim’s parents were troubled by repeated clips revealing her name and photo on social media. People are even making short videos using photos on social media. On this, the Supreme Court reiterated its order and said that in the RG Kar Hospital case, no arbitrator is allowed to publish the name and photo of the victim.

The Supreme Court directed all social media intermediaries not to reveal the name and identity of the victim. The Supreme Court said that its previous order should not be limited to Wikipedia, but all social media intermediaries should be directed not to reveal the name and identity of the victim. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta assured the Supreme Court that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will appoint a nodal officer to investigate such posts and any uploading of unauthorized publications will be removed and necessary action will be taken.
