Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case: Kolkata Police has arrested at least 25 ‘rioters’ in the case of vandalism at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Let us tell you that during the protest against the rape and murder of the doctor, the mob entered the RG Kar Hospital. During this, the mob damaged the protest site, vehicles and public property.

The mob also vandalised the hospital’s emergency department, nursing unit and medicine store. Apart from this, CCTV cameras in the hospital were also damaged. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had accused opposition parties of being behind this vandalism. She had blamed the leftists and the BJP for this vandalism.

The police arrested these people

According to The Indian Express report, those arrested by the West Bengal Police include Trinamool Congress workers, some women and delivery staff. According to the report, among those arrested is Soumik Das, a gym trainer and TMC worker. His family said that Soumik Das was carried away by emotions. Another accused, Debashish Mandal, works as a delivery person at a local grocery store. His father said that his son had gone to join the protest but did not return.

Tulsi Haldar, a 19-year-old student, is also accused of vandalism. A photo of her shared by the police shows her inside the hospital’s emergency building holding a bamboo stick in her hand. Her mother said her family had gone to join the protest but her daughter got caught in it.

Kolkata Police took this big decision

After the rape-murder incident at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata Police has given a big order. After this order, Section 163 under the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023 has been implemented around R.G. Kar Hospital for 7 days from 18/08/24. During this period, no gathering, dharna or rally will be allowed there.
