RG Car Case: The doctors who are on strike over the Kolkata rape case in West Bengal are currently adamant on their demands. On Monday (October 21, 2024), he gave a clear indication to the Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief Mamata Banerjee that if his demands are not heard, then they can protest on a large scale as per their wish.
There was a meeting of striking doctors with Mamata Banerjee at 5 pm on Monday evening, while just before this meeting, a press conference (PC) of Joint RDA and West Bengal Junior Doctors Front was held in Delhi. In the PC at the Press Club of India in Delhi, the doctors put forward a total of 10 demands and said that they have been raising these for several days but have not received any significant assurance on any of the demands.
On behalf of the doctors, it was said that they are hoping that the CM will listen to the doctors after the meeting. Hopefully she will draw some conclusions. If no conclusion is reached even after Monday’s meeting or written assurance is not given, then doctors across the country can prepare for the strike and demonstration in their own way.
DR Amrita Bhattacharya, representative of West Bengal Junior Doctor Front, told ‘ABP News’, “We are hoping for the best. If the government does not live up to this, then perhaps senior junior (private and government) doctors in Bengal will go on strike. We have to go on strike in Delhi. Support is also being received from RDA. In such a situation, this demonstration will not be limited to Bengal but will spread across the country.
RDA representatives of almost all the big hospitals of Delhi, while supporting the West Bengal Junior Doctor Front, said that their fellow doctors in West Bengal have been on strike for many days. They just want justice. If no conclusion is reached then they will also have to support. However, they do not want any patient to face any kind of problem. They want to do their duty, but if forced, they will definitely demonstrate in support.
