Kolkata RG Kar Rape Case: Now the junior doctors have gone on a fast unto death in connection with the rape and murder of a junior female doctor in RG Kar Hospital located in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Junior doctors say that the Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal did not fulfill their demands, after which they have now had to adopt the path of fast unto death. The already protesting junior doctors have started this fast from Saturday.
In fact, junior doctors were sitting on strike on Friday at Dorina Crossing in Dharmatala and had given 24 hours time to the state government to fulfill their demands as promised. A junior doctor said, ‘The state government failed to fulfill our demands within the deadline, so we are starting a fast unto death until our demands are met. To maintain transparency in this, we have installed CCTV cameras on the stage where our friends will fast.
The dead body was recovered from the conference room of the hospital.
Junior doctors said, ‘We will go on duty as per our promise but we will not eat anything.’ The junior doctor said that at present six junior doctors will start the fast. Junior doctors started the fast after withdrawing the ‘complete strike’. Actually, the dead body of a junior female doctor was found in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last month. After investigation, it was found that someone had murdered her due to rape.
Things are not working out with the government
During the investigation, the accused has been arrested by the police, Mamala Banerjee’s government seems to be badly entangled in this matter. BJP is completely attacking Mamata Banerjee regarding this matter. Many allegations have been made against the West Bengal government regarding this case, in which it has also been accused of making light of this issue and hiding the evidence. After the incident, the doctors of Kolkata had stopped going on duty for a long time, but after many efforts, they have now started going on duty. At present, things do not seem to be working out between junior doctors and the government. Because of which the junior doctors have now gone on hunger strike.
