Krishna Sudama Story: Although Shri Krishna had many friends, but the example of friendship between Sudama and Krishna is given even today. The reason for this is also that Krishna-Sudama’s close friendship is praised beyond wealth, color and discrimination. In childhood, Krishna and Sudama used to study together in the same Gurukul. But later Shri Krishna became Dwarkadhish and Sudama had to live in extreme poverty.
But Shri Krishna made Sudama the master of three worlds in exchange for three handfuls of rice. Seeing the wealth of Sudama, Yamraj reached Dwarka with his account books and started teaching the rules and regulations to Shri Krishna.
When Yamraj taught the lesson of rules and regulations to Shri Krishna
Yamraj reached Dwarka and said to Shri Krishna – I am sorry God, but the truth is that maybe there is no need for me in Yampuri anymore. That’s why I have come to hand over the account of the deeds of the creatures of the earth to you. Saying this, Yamraj placed the entire account before God.
Shri Krishna said – Yamraj ji, why are you looking so worried, what is the matter after all?
Yamraj said- God, after your forgiveness, many sinners do not come to Yampuri, but go straight to your abode. In such a situation, by giving all the three worlds to Sudama, you made him the master of all the three worlds. Now where will we go in such a situation.
Krishna’s leela made Sudama’s fate ‘Srikshay to Yakshashri’
Yamraj shows his account books to God and says that there is ‘Srikshay’ in the fate of Sudama ji. But Yamraj is also surprised to see the bookkeeping. In place of Sudama’s fate, instead of ‘Srikshay’, ‘Yakshree’ is written. In fact, Lord Krishna himself changes the letter from Shrikshay to Yakshashri through his pastimes. Yakshashri means Kuber’s wealth!
After this Shri Krishna says to Yamraj – Yamraj ji! Perhaps you do not know that Sudama had given me his everything. I have given him the reward of Sudama only.
Yamraj said in surprise – what such property did Sudama ji give you. He doesn’t have anything.
God said- Sudama had offered me rice in the form of love as his total capital, which I and Goddess Lakshmi ate with great love. The one who feeds me with love gets as much merit as he feeds the whole world. I have given the same reward to Sudama as well.
