Hina Azmi/ Dehradun. People of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, love to eat Ban Tikki. This is the reason why bun tikki stalls can be seen on almost every road of Dehradun, but the stall we are telling you about today has a different way of making bun tikkis. While others use potatoes to make tikkis, here a mixture of moong dal and gram dal is used along with potatoes. This gives crispness to the tikki. To taste the delicious Ban Tikki here, go to Krishna Ban Tikki stall near Bindal Bridge. Stall owner Sunil said that in 2002 he started making and serving bun tikkis at this stall. Today, it has been more than 21 years since he has been serving the taste of Ban Tikki to the people. Sunil says that we do not praise ourselves, the customers leave happy on their own and we try our best to serve the best flavor to the customers.
Sunil told that although bun tikki is available in many shops and stalls in Dehradun, but to give it some different flavor, he started making tikki with this mixture by grinding gram dal and moong dal along with potatoes. Which was liked by the people very much because it adds crunchiness to the tikki. He told that he gives not one but two tikkis in Ban Tikki. Apart from this, they take special care of hygiene and use molds to make tikkis. Sunil told that we have kept the price of one bun tikki at Rs 30.
