The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. The Congress suffered the most. The Congress came straight down to 17 from 77 seats. Means Congress had to bear the loss of 60 seats. At the same time, this time only five candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party, which claimed to form the government, could win the elections. The SP candidate won one seat, while the remaining three seats were won by independent candidates.
Kandhalbhai Jadeja, who contested on an SP ticket, defeated BJP’s Dheliben Odedra by 26,712 votes in the Kutiyana assembly seat in Porbandar district. BJP candidate got 34,032 votes while SP got 60,744 votes here. You are number three. Its candidate Bhimabhai Makwana got 19,557 votes, which was 15.11 percent of the total votes. Means, here your bail has been forfeited. Along with this, ten other candidates including the Congress candidate could not save their deposits. In Kutiana, 1,963 voters pressed the NOTA button.
Jadeja’s third consecutive win.
Kutiyana seat is one of the two seats in Porbandar district. Kandhal Jadeja’s third consecutive win on this seat. In 2017 and 2012, Kandhal Jadeja won from here on Sharad Pawar’s NCP ticket. In 2017, he had defeated BJP’s Odedara Lakhmanbhai Bhimabhai by a margin of 23,709 votes. However, Jadeja resigned from the NCP after being denied a ticket this time. Later Jadeja fielded from the Samajwadi Party and won the election.
From 1998 to 2007 BJP was in possession of Kutiyana
In 1998, 2002 and 2007, the lotus blossomed on the Kutiyana seat. BJP’s Karshan Odedara was elected MLA from here thrice. Independent Bhura Munja had won from here in 1995. Whereas, in 1990 Santokben Jadeja of Janata Dal had won. The sitting MLA Kandhalbhai Jadeja is the son of Santokhben. A film has been made in Bollywood named God Mother on Santokhben. In this, Shabana Azmi was seen in the role of Santokhben Jadeja. Santokhben is known as Lady Don in Gujarat politics. Congress had won this seat for the last time in 1998. Then Congress candidate Vijaydasji Mahant was successful in winning. After 1985, the Congress has not been able to win here.
