Praveen Madhav Singh’s (37) dream of coming from Kuwait and starting his own business in Banaras could not be fulfilled. The body of Praveen, a resident of Maa Gayatri Dham Colony in Chhatripur area, who lost his life in the Kuwait fire, reached the airport on Saturday morning. Praveen was cremated at Manikarnika Ghat, where his younger brother Aman Anurag Singh lit the funeral pyre.

Praveen, a native of Karhiya village of Gahmar police station in Ghazipur district, was working as a sales coordinator in a Kuwaiti company. According to family members, Praveen was planning to stay in Banaras from the coming month of December and start his business here.

Before that, last Wednesday, he got caught in a fire in a six-storey building in Kuwait and died. Praveen’s body was brought to Babatpur airport at 6:20 am on Saturday. State cabinet minister Anil Rajbhar, SDM Pindra Pratibha Mishra, Tehsildaar Pindra Vikas Pandey and CISF officers were present to receive the body.

Praveen’s body reached his home at 7:10 pm by ambulance from the airport. After this, in the presence of police and administration officials, Praveen’s family left for Manikarnika Ghat with his body for the last rites. After the last rites, Praveen’s family left for their native village.
