National President of the party Lalan Singh has resigned from the post in the National Executive meeting of JDU in Delhi. He said that I have taken this decision in view of the activism in the Lok Sabha elections. After Lalan’s resignation, Nitish Kumar is now certain to become the new president of Janata Dal United (JDU). Its formal announcement will be made at 5 pm. This will be the second time when the command of the party will be in the hands of Nitish Kumar. But this resignation of Lalan Singh has not happened suddenly. Its script was being written in Bihar several months ago. Due to these two incidents, a tussle started between Lalan Singh and Nitish Kumar.

A party official present at the meeting held in the Constitution Club of Delhi, on the request of anonymity, told Amar Ujala that four months ago on September 13, Nitish Kumar had held a marathon meeting with the block presidents and district presidents of the party. National President of the party Lalan Singh was missing from this meeting. When the discussion intensified, a statement was issued by the party that he was ill. However, a day before the meeting he had addressed a large gathering in Rajgir.

After 19 days, Nitish Kumar again called a meeting of assembly in-charges. After the end of the meeting, there was a heated argument between National President Lalan Singh and Building Construction Minister Ashok Chaudhary. After these two incidents it was almost certain that everything was not well within the party. Nitish Kumar wants to tighten the noose on the arbitrariness of Lalan Singh. After this, he held meetings with all the party officials one after the other and gave them the message to fight the Lok Sabha elections strongly. During this, he had also said that this time he will not repeat the mistake of 2020. 100 days after this meeting, Lalan Singh resigned from the post of National President.

In fact, in the 2020 assembly elections, Nitish Kumar had given the responsibility of ticket distribution to former Union Minister RCP Singh, JDU leader. In this, RCP Singh not only distributed tickets against the wishes of Nitish Kumar, but also became a Union Minister. Ultimately he had to be thrown out of the party. In such a situation, now Nitish Kumar wants to take command of the party before the Lok Sabha elections, hence he removed Lalan Singh from the post of president.
