A BALLB student of the Law Department of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has accused the university authorities of deliberately failing her. In protest against this, the students sat on a dharna in front of the gate of the Registrar’s office on 4 November.
Student Avantika Gaur has accused the history teacher of discrimination. Said to have taken admission in BALLB first year in the year 2021. She passed five out of six subjects, but failed in history. Avantika has demanded re-examination and getting the answer sheet checked by a teacher from another department.
AMU student Akhil Kaushal, who was sitting on the dharna with the student, said that he has warned the arrangements not to harass Hindu students unnecessarily. The student will write and send her ordeal to the Prime Minister. During this, Akhil also had an argument with the proctor. Former ABVP state minister Baldev Chaudhary Situ said that this is not the first case. The student should be given justice.
There is no discrimination in the university. The student’s allegation is wrong. A written complaint has been sought from the student in this regard. We will meet the Vice Chancellor regarding this and after taking special permission, the answer sheets will be evaluated again. No discrimination will be allowed against anyone. – Pro.
