During the action of Special Cell in UP, a factory manufacturing fake medicines for depression was exposed. Three accused were caught. Narcotics Control Bureau has also been a part of this action. A total of 700 kg of raw material has been recovered from which the anxiety medicine ‘Alprazolam’ was to be made. 4.720 kg of high quality psychotropic substance Alprazolam has also been found from the factory.

Let us tell you that Alprazolam is used in the treatment of panic disorder and depression. Earlier on April 25, the special team had caught a member associated with this racket in the warehouse of the courier company at IGI Airport. From whom psychotropic substance was found. Police conducted a raid in Haridwar and allegedly found a packet containing 1.006 kg of psychotropic substance Alprazolam from the man’s house. Its connection came from Gajraula factory. However, the owner of the factory has still not been caught.

How to identify real and fake medicine

1. There is a QR code on genuine medicines, which is a special type of unique code printed. From this you can get complete information about the medicine. In such a situation, if this code is not on the medicine then it should be understood that the medicine is fake. One should avoid buying such medicines.

2. By scanning this unique QR code given on the medicine, complete information will be revealed. The rule says that QR code is mandatory on medicines costing more than Rs 100. Do not buy medicines without this.

3. The QR code on medicines is of advanced version, which is connected to the central database agency. This code also changes with every medicine. In such a situation, it is not possible to make a copy or fake it.

4. Always buy medicines from licensed medical stores only. Never forget to take the bill.

5. Avoid buying medicines online, there is a high possibility of fraud in this.

6. Fake medicines can be identified by differences in packaging or spelling errors in printing or different designs.

7. Batch number, manufacturing date and expiry date should be mandatory on medicines.

8. If there are medicines of different colors in the same packet or some medicines are damp or have a foul smell, then do not buy them.
