After two years of severe corona epidemic, it has been seen that people who consider themselves less attractive than others are more likely to wear masks. The reason behind this is that they believe that after applying the mask, they will be able to make a good impression on others. This study has recently been published in Frontiers in Psychology. Research suggests that people have associated masks with attractiveness. People who consider themselves less attractive often use masks to look good.
The authors of this study said that our findings suggest that during the corona epidemic, people used to wear masks to protect themselves from infection, while now they are wearing them to make themselves look good and impressive. Incheol Choi, professor of psychology at Seoul National University, said that some people still prefer to wear masks, while others have completely abandoned it.
Mask hides expression
According to Fox News report, Dr. Christopher L., psychologist and professor at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. Edwards said that the mask has helped many people hide their negative expressions. While some people used it to hide their face, because they consider themselves less attractive.
People who consider themselves attractive do not want to wear masks
Same, it was studied once again. In this study, 244 people were asked to imagine that they had received an email for a job interview. After this people were asked whether they would wear a mask for the job interview or not? Will the interviewer look good with or without the mask? The results suggest that people who consider themselves attractive would prefer to avoid using masks. Because they feel that the mask will spoil their personality and make them less attractive. Whereas those who do not consider themselves attractive would prefer to wear a mask.
