The court of Fast Track Court I judge Neeraj Kumar Srivastava has found the accused Munnu Paswan and Radhika Devi guilty in the murder case of Maharaj Rajendra Das alias Dr. Chauhan of Shrimath Pachganga Ghat and sentenced them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 15,000.
After the statement of 10 witnesses, the court found the couple Munnu and Radhika guilty on charges of murder and hiding the dead body. According to the FIR of plaintiff Vinod Kumar Singh, resident of Sumerapur, Jansa, Maharaj Rajendra Das of Shrimath Pachganga Ghat had been visiting Munnu Paswan’s house in his village for five years.
Rajendra Das had come home on the night of 6 December 2017, whenever he came he used to walk on the terrace, when he was not seen, then on the morning of 8 December 2017 when the people of the locality went to ask Munnu, he refused to go into the house. .
Accused Munnu Paswan and Radhika Devi together murdered Maharaj Rajendra Das and buried the body in the courtyard of their house. The police registered a case and started investigation and dug out the body from the courtyard of the accused’s house.
Investigation revealed that the deceased had an illicit relationship with the daughter and wife of the accused. He was murdered due to this rivalry. Accused husband Munnu and wife Radhika were arrested by the police on 9 December 2017. Since then both remained detained in jail. After trial, the court found the couple guilty and sentenced them.
