The westerly winds blowing in Uttar Pradesh have increased the cold. In many areas including Meerut, the night temperature has dropped to around 6 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of western disturbance, there will be movement of clouds in the Terai and Purvanchal areas of the state on Monday, there are also chances of drizzle and light rain.
Scientist Atul Kumar Singh of the Zonal Meteorological Center said that due to the effect of western disturbance, there will be a drop in the maximum temperature due to cloudiness and drizzle during the day, but there may be a rise of 2 to 3 degrees in the mercury at night.
After the western disturbance passes, the minimum mercury will fall again from Tuesday and the chill will increase. Due to easterly winds, there are chances of moderate to dense fog in Terai and Purvanchal after Wednesday. The highest temperature of 29 degrees Celsius was recorded in Orai on Sunday. The lowest temperature was recorded at 5.4 degrees in Meerut and 6 degrees Celsius in Ayodhya.
