Peru Football Match Incident: One player died tragically and several others were injured due to lightning during a football match in Peru. This accident happened on November 3 when a match was being played between Juventud Bellavista and Familia Chocca at the Coto-Coto Stadium in Silca. The players were leaving the field at the time of lightning as the game was temporarily stopped. 39-year-old player Jose Hugo de la Cruz Meza was directly hit by lightning and died on the spot.

His body was later found at Daniel A. Sent to Carrion Hospital. Apart from this, the remaining four players were taken to nearby medical centers for treatment. A video of this terrible incident has surfaced. In this video, it can be seen how after the lightning, all the players get piled up on the field like a pack of cards.

What to do if there is a possibility of lightning?

Experts say that when there is a danger of lightning, one should immediately move to a safe place, such as a house or permanent structure. Being in open spaces, especially under trees, can be extremely risky, as lightning can strike trees. Apart from this, one should stay away from rivers or ponds, because water is a good conductor for electricity. Distance should also be maintained from metal objects, such as umbrellas or bicycles.

What not to do?

If there is a danger of lightning in your area, then avoid standing on the road and if you are in a group, then try to stand separately. One should avoid using phones and other electronic devices even at home, because there is a risk of getting electrocuted.
