In Muzaffarpur, the team of excise department has recovered the consignment of liquor from the ambulance. In that ambulance, branded liquor was hidden by making a cellar under the stretcher. Police say that this liquor is worth lakhs of rupees. This case is near Kanhauli turn of Mithanpura police station area.
A basement was built under the stretcher.
Police say that the liquor was being brought from the North East state of Sikkim by hiding it in the basement of the ambulance. Vehicle investigation was going on at that time. In this sequence, when the ambulance was signaled to stop for investigation, the driver started blowing the ambulance’s horn so that no one would get a clue. But he was forcibly stopped and the vehicle was searched. During the investigation, the police noticed a basement under the stretcher. When the police opened the basement under the stretcher, they were stunned to see it. By then the driver started running away from there and was chased by the police and arrested. The seized liquor is said to be worth around Rs 4 lakh.
Police engaged in investigation
In this case, Inspector of Excise Department, Shivendra Kumar said that action has been taken on the basis of secret information, in which liquor was being brought secretly by making a cellar in an ambulance. During investigation, he was stopped and when the ambulance was examined, liquor was recovered from the basement under the stretcher, which has been confiscated. At present the excise police have seized the liquor and the ambulance. Police is taking action against the driver arrested from the spot.
