Notice to 45 farmers of Agra, fields will be auctioned

According to media reports, the condition of auctioning of farms has come in Agra for non-payment of loans of farmers. Sahakari Gram Vikas Bank has issued notice to 45 farmers of Kheragarh. The bank had already mortgaged the land of these farmers. On January 8, there will be auction of fields in Kheragarh Tehsil premises. The bank will first deduct the principal and interest from the amount received from the auction. After that the remaining amount will be given to the farmers. Notices have been issued to all 45 farmers in this context. About seven thousand farmers have taken a loan of more than Rs 15 crore by mortgaging their land from nine branches of the bank in Agra.

The situation of land sale came in 4 years

This crisis has come before the farmers of 30 villages including Birai, Jhandipur, Kanchanpur, Bishara, Ramgarha, Sherpur, Hariapura, Rahlai villages of Kheragarh. More than 150 farmers here had mortgaged their fields in the cooperative bank in 2017-18 to take a loan of one to two lakh rupees. The amount almost doubled in three years at 11.50 per cent annual interest. Banks sent many notices to the farmers. But after not getting any satisfactory answer, now the bank is taking action to auction it.

Crisis on the land of 25 thousand farmers
The cooperative administration is continuously tightening its noose on the farmers for recovery. In Agra, Mathura, Firozabad and Mainpuri, the land of more than 25 thousand farmers is mortgaged in the Gram Vikas Bank. There is a debt of about Rs 90 crore on the farmers. If the farmers do not deposit the loan on time, then there may be a crisis on their land as well.
