Taiclet, CEO of America’s giant defense company Lockheed Martin, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the meeting, the Prime Minister appreciated the company’s commitment towards ‘Make in India, Make for World’.

Meanwhile, Lockheed Martin has made an offer for F-21 fighter aircraft, Sikorsky Naval Utility Helicopter and anti-armor weapon. Although the Indian government has not yet given any response to this, India is still looking for a company for the tender for 114 medium role fighter aircraft. Dassault Aviation is also involved in the race for this tender.

French company Dassault Aviation is one of the contenders for the ongoing tender for 114 medium role fighter aircraft, but it is not ready to share the technology of Rafale fighter aircraft. However, India’s emphasis is on the Make in India initiative of aircraft under technology transfer. In such a situation, no further action has been taken on the medium role fighter aircraft deal.

The company will make aircraft in collaboration with Tata
Although Lockheed Martin’s sale offer for the F-21 did not work out, Lockheed Martin has entered into an agreement with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to manufacture the F-21. Lockheed Martin is ready to set up a plant in India to meet the needs of the Indian Air Force and for export. For this, it has partnered with the Tata Group and formed Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited. F-16 will be manufactured in it.
