Gopalganj Lok Sabha Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Sujit Ram has been arrested by Gopalganj police for violating the model code of conduct. Police say that legal action is being taken against them.
Violation of code of conduct against permission
In this regard, the police say that on the last day of election campaign, on Thursday, BSP party candidate Sujit Kumar Ram had sought permission to hold a rally and procession. The administration had given permission to the BSP candidate from Bhagwanpur to Chanawe, Thawe Gopalganj via Bhadkuiya Koini, Barauli to Dharmaparsa. The scheduled time of the rally was from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, but the BSP candidate violated the route chart and started campaigning by going to other villages of Kuchaykot assembly constituency in his vehicle. Also, the vehicle which was being used for campaigning did not have permission for campaigning. The district police administration got information about this. As soon as the information was received, the police administration took immediate action and arrested BSP candidate Sujit Kumar Ram. Also, the vehicle which was campaigning without permission has also been seized. In this case, the police of Kuchaykot police station say that an FIR has been registered against the BSP candidate and legal action is being taken by arresting him.
