Lok Sabha Election 2024 BJP gives ticket to rajamata amrita rao from krishnanaga seat against mahua moitra


Lok Sabha Election 2024: the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is busy in preparations, released the fifth list of candidates on Sunday (24 March). The names of 111 candidates are included in the list. The party has given ticket to Rajmata Amrita Roy from Krishnanagar seat of West Bengal. She will compete with TMC leader Mahua Moitra.

Amrita Roy is the queen mother of Rajbari (Royal Palace) of Krishnanagar. Speculations were being made regarding his candidature for the last few days. Amrit Roy had joined BJP on 20 March this month. He took membership of BJP in the presence of Shubhendu Adhikari.

BJP will get strength
Election experts believe that Amrita Roy’s candidature will strengthen BJP in the state. According to BJP sources, the district leadership first showed interest in making Amrita its candidate and then the party started talks with her. At the same time, when Amrita was talked about contesting the elections, she agreed.

Mahua Moitra had won last time
In the last election, TMC leader Mahua Moitra had won from Krishnanagar seat. He got more than 6 lakh votes, while BJP’s Kalyan Choubey got a total of 5 lakh votes. Mahua Moitra won by a huge margin of 63218. Mahua got huge votes in Chopra, Palashipara and Kaliganj assembly. However, TMC has weakened here in recent times.

BJP wanted an influential face
According to BJP sources, a local, influential and familiar face was needed to increase the vote margin. In such a situation, nomination of Amrita Roy will give strength to BJP in the region. Raja Krishna Chandra Dev is very famous in Bengal. He is known for his visionary rule during the 18th century.
