Congress Candidate List: Congress has announced the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections The fourth list of 46 candidates has been released. Congress Prime Minister from Varanasi, the country’s most VIP seat Narendra Modi Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai has been fielded against him. Ajay Rai has also contested elections against PM Modi from Varanasi seat in 2014 and 2019. However, Ajay Rai had to face defeat in both the elections.
Ajay Rai was third in the last election
In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, PM Modi defeated Samajwadi Party’s Shalini Yadav by 4.80 lakh votes. Shalini Yadav has now joined BJP. In that election, Ajay Rai got 1 lakh 52 thousand 548 votes and he was in third place. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi got 63.62 percent votes from Varanasi seat, while Ajay Rai got 14.38 percent votes.
In the Lok Sabha elections 2014, Ajay Rai contested against the current PM Narendra Modi and came second.

Names of many veterans in Congress list
Congress has so far announced the names of candidates for 185 seats out of 543 Lok Sabha seats. Congress has given tickets to many veteran leaders in the fourth list. The party has fielded former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh from Rajgarh seat, Arun Srivastava from Bhopal, Vikas Thackeray from Nagpur seat against Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, Congress had won only one seat out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, Rae Bareli, from where former Congress President Sonia Gandhi was the candidate. In Tamil Nadu, Congress has once again fielded Karti Chidambaram from Sivagangai seat. This Lok Sabha constituency was once represented by his father P. Chidambaram.
