Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said in a post on X that the Indian National Congress completely disassociates itself from these analogies. Actually, this clarification has come from Congress after BJP targeted Sam Pitroda’s alleged “racist” comments.

Recently, during an interview with The Statesman, Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda had compared people living in different parts of India. He had said that India is an extremely diverse country, where people living in eastern India look like Chinese people, people living in the west look like Arabs, white people living in North India and African people living in the south.
Sam Pitroda further said that but all this does not matter. He said that we respect different languages, religions and customs. This is the same India that I trust, where everyone is respected and everyone compromises a little.
The analogies given by Sam Pitroda to the diversities of India are extremely wrong and unacceptable. The Indian National Congress completely disassociates itself from these analogies.

BJP hit back at Sam Pitroda’s remarks
BJP has come under attack on Sam Pitroda’s statement related to the appearance of Indians. On the statement of Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said that Sam Pitroda has given a very objectionable statement on India, Indian culture, the identity of India and the identity of its people.
